Actor Mario Lopez has found that, for him, success comes along with the word "bell." The former Saved by the Bell star will join the cast of the Bradley Bell-penned soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, next month.
Lopez joins the cast in the role of Christian Ramirez, the younger brother of Hector Ramirez. According to a show spokesperson, Cristian is a doctor.
The expansion of the Ramirez family is expected to help increase the visibility of Lorenzo Lamas (Hector Ramirez). Lamas has had little in the way of storyline since his on-screen pairing with Sydney Penny (ex-Samantha Kelly) fizzled last year. Rumors of Lamas' impending departure from the show have been swirling since August 2005.
In addition to his work on the Saturday morning teen soap scene, Lopez has appeared as Olympic diver Greg Louganis in a biographical movie, served as a talk show host on the all-male "The Other Half," co-hosted the reality series "Name Your Adventure" and appeared in numerous primetime guest spots.
Lopez makes his first appearance on March 20th. It is expected to be sometime around mid-March.
