The Bold and the Beautiful's Scott Clifton (Liam Spencer) will soon to be taking on the role of dad, according to his wife, Nicole.

"My dear friends and family, Scott and I are so excited to share that we are expecting our first child, a boy, due on May 1st, 2016," she revealed on Facebook. "The cats are gonna be SO pissed."

This will be the first child for the couple, who wed on October 20, 2012.

When jokingly asked by Soap Central if the pregnancy would be written into the show, Clifton replied, "I asked, but alas: Liam will be spending a lot of scenes sitting behind desks and holding giant purses."
