The Bold and the Beautiful is whisking fans away to Monte Carlo, but that's not where the excitement ends. Today's episode will feature a very special moment in which series star Scott Clifton (Liam Spencer) sings a new song for the CBS soap.
Written by Daytime Emmy Award-winning Song Writer/Supervising Producer Casey Kasprzyk and Tony Ferrari, The Song That Never Played was actually inspired by Clifton himself. "As we were shooting Liam's reflective montage, I was completely drawn into Scott Clifton's performance," Kasprzyk told Soap Opera Digest. "It was the first scene of the day, and Monte Carlo was so desolate. It created amazing visuals."
After Kasprzyk wrote the song on the plane ride home, he and B&B's executive producer/head writer Bradley Bell decided on Clifton as the voice of the song. "I was surprised," the actor says of being asked to perform the tune. "Mostly because I just don't think of myself as a singer, but when they told me they'd heard my own music and thought my voice would be a nice fit, I was honored."
Earlier this year, Reign Edwards (Nicole Avant) performed an original song in scenes that aired while Nicole was in labor.
