The saying is usually "like mother, like daughter." But in the case of The Bold and the Beautiful actresses Denise Richards (Shauna Fulton) and Katrina Bowen (Flo Fulton), it's the opposite. Bowden was the first to take a break from B&B to film a project in a foreign country, and now Richards is following in her on-screen daughter's footsteps!
The popular actress took to Instagram to share a photo of herself traveling on an airplane and teased that an exciting new project is the reason she has headed to Europe.
Richards hasn't revealed further details about the mystery project that has taken her out of the country, nor has she said whether or not it will affect her time at B&B. However, the actress' IMDb page lists a Spanish series that is currently filming called Resplandor y Tinieblas (which translates to Glow and Darkness) that could be the project that called her away from home.
Written by Alejandro Guillermo, Resplandor y Tinieblas costars Jane Seymour and will reportedly put the spotlight on some of the most relevant characters of the Middle Ages, including Richard I of England, Eleanor of Aquitaine, and Saint Francis of Assisi. Other stars set to participate on the project to be filmed in English include Bruce Davison, Luke Cosgrove, Adam Bond, and Natalie Radmall, among others.
As for Richards' B&B daughter, Bowden, the actress was back filming at the CBS soap opera in December and teased that the return of Flo would be a devilish one. B&B fans will have to keep tuning in to find out what she meant!
UPDATE (January 12, 2020): Spanish TV producer Jose Luis Moreno confirmed during a press conference in Madrid last week that the project that took Denise Richards to Europe is indeed the upcoming series Glow and Darkness, which he cowrote along with the show's creator, Alejandro Guillermo Roemmers. Moreno told reporters that the series will be shooting for the next six months, meaning Richards may be taking a bit of a backseat at B&B. The actress shared on Instagram that she returned home from Europe over the weekend. However, her post ended with, "Spain, I will see you soon," which could indicate that she'll be heading back to the country to film more Glow and Darkness in the future. Keep checking back to Soap Central for more on this story as it develops.
