Lisa Rinna's (Billie Reed) return to Days of our Lives will apparently be a short one, according to a newly published report that states that the actress is ready to move on.
"She's leaving so she can do all of the 500 other things she loves to do," the Huffington Post reported, citing a friend of the actress. "[She's working on] her Belle Gray line for QVC, she's writing another diet and fitness book, plus she's developing a vitamin supplement line and lingerie line."
Rinna is also reportedly in the early stages of developing a talk show. Rinna previously co-hosted the Emmy-nominated soap-themed chat show, Soap Talk, on the 24-hour soap channel, SOAPnet.
Rinna's return was never believed to be a long-term deal. When news of the actress' return to Days of our Lives first broke in December 2011, her stint was compared to that of James Franco's on General Hospital.
"There is something full circle about bringing her back to the role that made her famous and now harnessing her celebrity to secure the future of the show," a source said at the time.
Rinna debuted as Billie Reed in 1992 and remained with the show for three years. She returned for a short-term engagement from July 2002 to January 2003. Since leaving Days of our Lives, Rinna has gone on to find even more celebrity as a host of Red Carpet coverage at awards shows and as a contestant on several reality programs.
A final airdate has not yet been announced. NBC does not comment on casting rumors.
