Hot on the heels of the news that Kate Mansi has decided to walk away from the role of Days of our Lives' Abigail Deveraux comes word that the NBC soap is currently casting a character that soundsa lot like Jennifer's daughter.
The casting notice calls for a 24- to 28-year-old to play the part of Val, "a gorgeous young professional" who has "already experienced great love and great loss in her young life, which has left her strong spirit with a fragility she passionately protects." In addition, Val "has a determination to live and love as fearlessly as she can in the wake of all she has been through."
DAYS is only considering "very, very strong actors" for the role, which begins as recurring with the possibility of going contract. The casting call also specifies that anyone who tried out for the part of Val in December should not resubmit this time around.
Mansi, who stepped into Abigail's shoes in 2011, has already finished taping and will last air in May.
