Any true Days of our Lives fan has wished on several occasions that the winky face Emoji we all use on our smart phones wore a patch over his eye like Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols), and now that dream is becoming a reality.
The NBC drama, which is approaching its 52nd anniversary, is commemorating five decades of must-see daytime drama with the launch of an official and groundbreaking DOOLMoji app this Thursday, September 21, that features the show's characters, memorable moments, and objects as emoticons.
"After more than a year, developing and fine-tuning the Emojis, we are excited to finally release the DOOLMoji app," says DAYS co-executive producer Greg Meng. "We've created this for our family of passionate and loyal fans to use to express their thoughts and feelings about their favorite soap -- whether they're loving it or loving to hate it!"
DAYS' innovative DOOLMoji app is the first of its kind for a soap opera and will provide passionate fans a modern and unique way to communicate with each other and with the show via social media platforms as well as through text messaging apps and SMS.
The first collection of Emojis will include depictions of fan-favorite characters Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso), John Black (Drake Hogestyn), Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow), Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves), Will Horton (Chandler Massey), and Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney). The app will also feature Emojis of memorable moments, objects, and symbols, including the infamous Sami/Carrie b*tchslap of 1997 and Marlena's levitation of 1994.
DOOLMoji will be available for both iPhone and Android devices in the App Store and Google Play Store for 99 cents as of September 21, 2017. For more information on the show's exciting new offer to fans, check out the official DOOLMoji website.
