Soap worlds will collide when Tyler Perry's upcoming thriller Ruthless makes its debut in 2020: current Ambitions star Matt Cedeņo, who's known for his role as Days of our Lives' Brandon Walker, has landed a role in the soapy drama.
A spinoff of Perry's The Oval, Ruthless follows Ruth Truesdale (Melissa L. Williams) as she's forced to play nice with a religious cult of powerful, sex-crazed fanatics in the hopes of freeing herself and her daughter.
Variety reports that in addition to Cedeņo, cast members include Stephanie Charles, Anthony Bless, Bobbi Baker James, Lenny Thomas, Yvonne Senat Jones, Baadja-Lyne Odums, Jaime Callica , Nirine S. Brown, Blue Kimble, and Herve Clermont (ex-D.A. Jared Hall, One Life to Live).
Ruthless is set to debut in 2020 on BET Plus, the network's new streaming service. Perry is set to write, direct, and executive produce the show with Michelle Sneed for Tyler Perry Studios.
Cedeņo played the role of DAYS' Brandon from 1999 to 2005. He later went on to appear in series like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Desperate Housewives, and The Mentalist before landing roles in Devious Maids, Z Nation, Power, and Ambitions.
