Fans are clamoring to see the upcoming Netflix series AJ and the Queen, and not just because it looks seriously charming and stars RuPaul. It also features appearances by soap opera alum Robb Derringer (ex-Kyle Sloane, General Hospital; ex-Scooter Nelson, Days of our Lives), which is bound to make it a winner for daytime fans.
For anyone who hasn't heard of the series yet, get yourself out from under that rock and pay attention: the comedy follows a down-on-her-luck drag queen who travels across America in a van with a tough-talking 10-year-old stowaway (Izzy Gaspersz). Honestly, what's not to love about that?!
"Hope you'll all tune in Jan. 10th for the series premiere of @ajandthequeen on Netflix. It's gonna be a hell of a fun show to watch," Derringer teases on Instagram. "@rupaulofficial and @mizzizzyg are gold together. Had a ball working on this show."
Derringer got his start on soaps with the role of a D.A. on All My Children back in 2010. He followed that up with a short stint as The Young and the Restless' Wayne in 2013 before joining General Hospital as special agent Kyle Sloane in 2014. His most recent soap role was that of DAYS' Scooter, which he played in 2017.
Some of Derringer's post-daytime credits include Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Queen America, and Stumptown.
