Soap alums Jensen Ackles (ex-Eric Brady, Days of our Lives) and Danneel Ackles (ex-Shannon McBain, One Life to Live) have done pretty much everything together, from sharing their lives as spouses, to sharing a background in daytime, to sharing the screen in the CW series Supernatural. They've also shared the fun task of choosing and decorating their home in Texas, where they live with their three kids, Justice Jay (JJ), Zeppelin Bram, and Arrow Rhodes.
In a video interview with Architectural Digest, the couple takes viewers on a tour of their massive lake house, which they say they bought on the spot -- even though it wasn't for sale.
"We got this house about four and a half years ago. It was not for sale, but we drove by it and said, 'Let's make them an offer,'" Jensen recalls. "Luckily for us, they were looking to move, so we bought it, and we've been doing some work on it ever since."
Some of the fun things that the couple shows off in the video include a flowery art piece that Danneel didn't think Jensen would like (spoiler alert: he loved it!), Venetian dioramas from the 1970s that they installed in one of their walls, the "sex organ" of a palm tree they have displayed on their bar, headless deer planters, a shower that was inspired by Neil Patrick Harris' shower, the audience that they always have in their bedroom (true story), and a creepy doll that Jensen has to hide before he can sleep.
The couple also shows off how great they are as a pair, making hilarious jokes throughout the video and even taking shots of tequila. Jensen Ackles starred on Days of our Lives from 1997 until 2000 before going on to find work on numerous primetime series, including Supernatural and Smallville. Danneel Ackles (formerly Harris) starred on One Life to Live from 2003 to 2004 before finding work on the primetime soap One Tree Hill and later joining Jensen on Supernatural. The couple married in 2010.
