After just about two years with General Hospital, Lisa Vultaggio (Hannah Scott) is leaving the show.

According to an ABC spokesperson, Vultaggio has been released from her contract. The spokesperson quickly clarified that "It was a mutual decision between [Vultaggio] and ABC."

Vultaggio first joined General Hospital in 1999. Some fans grumbled about the decision to cast Vultaggio because of a similarity between the actress and Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda). The actress quickly distinguished herself through her on-screen work and the writers helped avoid any confusion by steering Hannah aware from Brenda's ex-lover, Sonny.

There are no plans to recast the role of Hannah. Vultaggio's final airdate is March 23rd.
