Many daytime fans have been hoping and praying that Alison Sweeney would make a return to the genre, and their wishes are coming true -- just not exactly in the way many might hope.
The former Days of our Lives actress, known for her long portrayal of Samantha Brady, is heading back to the director's seat at General Hospital.
The actress announced the news on her Instagram page, writing, "I've taken over the dinner table, hard at work prepping to direct at GH next week. Can't wait!"
Sweeney has already directed a few episodes of GH and previously directed episodes of DAYS during and after her run on the NBC soap. At this time, it's unclear which actors she'll be working with during her current stint in Port Charles.
"We're always happy to have her on set and in Port Charles," a GH rep tells Soap Central.
