General Hospital fans finally got to see William deVry back on-screen as Julian Jerome this week after drawn-out contract negotiations took him off screen earlier this summer. But the actor reveals it's going to be a little while before his popular alter ego gets any worthwhile action -- though it'll be worth the wait.
"It's a slow re-entry for me," he jokes to TV Insider with a laugh. "Actually, it's more like they have me on a morphine drip. Just three episodes during my first two weeks back. But I'm fine with that. I don't need to work my balls off. But, by week three, things start happening really quickly. There's some very interesting stuff in the works."
Interesting may be quite an understatement. After all, Julian was thrown in jail after trying to kill Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) -- a disturbing storyline that kind of leaves the future of the character as well as his relationship with his former flame up in the air. But deVry isn't fretting.
"I have faith in the writers and am super confident they will come up with a story that exonerates my character. There's a lot more story to tell," deVry opines, adding that he doesn't deny it will be an uphill battle. "There's ten percent -- maybe even twenty percent -- of the Julexis fans who think Julian went too far and can't overlook the domestic-abuse aspect of the story, and they are no longer Julexis fans. They think Julian is a disgusting character and nothing will ever make them forget what he did. But the other 80 percent really wants to see them back together."
But will the two truly be able to reconcile and reunite after everything that has happened? Check out TV Insider's full interview with deVry here for more info.
