Diehard fans of classic 1980s soap opera magic are squealing in delight right about now, because John Stamos made a return to General Hospital -- and there's photographic evidence.
The actor, who played Blackie Parrish back in 1982, took to Instagram with photos himself -- taken by photographer Jim Warren -- on set at the ABC soap opera alongside Kin Shriner (Scotty Baldwin), Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos), and Josh Swickard (Chase)
"The Studs of GH!" he captioned the intriguing pic. "Visiting my old stomping grounds.... Thanks for the hospitality boys."
Shriner also shared a photo of the exciting reunion, writing: "Long time friend John Stamos stopped by General Hospital today, reminiscing Scotty Blackie days."

Rumors immediately started swirling that Stamos, who's largely known as Uncle Jesse from the 1980s family sitcom Full House, will perhaps be reprising his Port Charles role. After all, he's a brand-new dad now, and being on a soap opera is a steady, family-perfect gig.
However, the more likely reason the California native was on set at GH was to conduct research for his new soap opera-related series. As Soap Central previously reported, Amazon has picked up the yet-untitled project that chronicles the fame and excess of daytime soaps in the 1980s.
Currently in development and being executive produced by Stamos himself, the series is said to be inspired by Stamos' time on GH and will "explore the colorful and often dark world of soaps as it follows the journey of a young man thrust into soap stardom, during a decade defined by Reaganomics, greed, excess, indulgence and materialism. As a newly minted teen idol, he will struggle to balance his family life, working at his [father's] restaurant and maintain his humble upbringing while navigating the temptations of sex, drugs and fame."
A rep for GH has yet to comment on why Stamos was spotted back at GH. Was his visit truly just a visit, or could it be a hint of something more to come? Stay tuned to Soap Central for updates as they become available.
