Fans are sending well wishes to General Hospital actor Tajh Bellow (T.J. Ashford), who reveals on social media that the crutches he is currently using on-screen aren't just part of his storyline -- he's actually recovering from a real-life injury.
The actor shared on Instagram that he completely tore his quadricep and hasn't been able to walk since February. He began physical therapy in April, which he says has been a very painful experience.
"It has been incredibly challenging. I mean, it really freakin' sucked," he writes. "But the journey back to full health is that much closer."
As for T.J.'s storyline, the character was kidnapped and hadn't been on-screen for a while. Once the character was released, he spent a lot of time in the hospital, recovering. But the writers couldn't have T.J. stay in a hospital bed forever, so Bellow is using crutches to get around during the scenes when he's not seated.
Bellow hasn't shared any additional posts about his quadricep recovery, but at least he's getting plenty of time to recover while he and many other people around the world are sheltered at home during the coronavirus pandemic.
