General Hospital viewers weren't sure what to think when the ABC soap opera announced that it had once again recast the role of Jordan Ashford; previous portrayer Briana Nicole Henry and original portrayer Vinessa Antoine were so loved, many fans figured it would be an impossible task for a newcomer to take over the role with any success. But, as it turns out, it wasn't impossible for new portrayer Tanisha Harper!
The Japanese-American actress made her debut on the ABC soap opera last week, and she has quickly proven that she's a natural in the character's shoes. In a new interview with Soap Opera Digest, she reveals that one of the reasons that she's been so smashing in her new role is because it truly felt like she and Jordan were a perfect match.
"When I saw this role, I was like, 'This is exactly what I was looking for.' And as I was going over the audition [material] and learning my lines, I was like, 'I just feel like this is the one,'" Harper reveals in SOD's latest issue.
She goes on to share, "Something about it was just very natural for me. I just really felt it; I felt that this role was for me."
As Soap Central previously reported, GH is Harper's first soap job, but she joins the daytime drama with plenty of dramatic experience. She recently guest-starred on Hulu's Dollface and the HBO Max series Hacks, while some of her other credits include Netflix's Dear White People and the comedy film Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
Harper also knows a thing or two about glamor. In addition to acting, she is a successful model who has posed in magazines such as Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Harper's Bazaar, and Marie Claire. She has also been featured in global advertisements, campaigns, and runway shows for brands like Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta, Jimmy Choo, L'Oréal Paris, and Mac Cosmetics.
