General Hospital fans are sending love and positive vibes to Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis), who is set to undergo back surgery.
The actress revealed earlier this month that she was suffering from a "painful medical problem" that involved a cyst on a nerve. She described the condition as "cry-baby-painful" and shared that her significant other was helping her "put on my underwear and pants."
She hoped at the time that the issue was fixable, and it turns out it is, as she's going under the knife next week.
"Heads up. Having a little back thingy surgery next week," she tweeted. "I'll be on Percocet & Oxycontin (I had to look up spelling of both so good sign). Ignore anything I tweet from 3/23/22 to 3/27/22. Thank you."

Fortunately, GH was able to work around Grahn's surgery, for which the actress is incredibly thankful.
"To have a job where when I say I've a fixable medical prob[lem] that needs to be addressed asap and have [the executive producer] say 'Take care of yourself' and then adjust 200 crew and a schedule that cost lots of time and money is a perk I'm grateful for," she tweeted. "I'm a lucky 26-year employee of @generalhospital"

Following Grahn's post about her surgery, Wally Kurth (Ned Quartermaine) lent his support by wishing his co-star a speedy recovery. Many fans followed suit with well wishes, and many shared stories about their own past surgeries with tips and advice for the beloved actress. When one fan suggested that Grahn try something else to manage her post-op pain, the actress cracked, "Cool. Have you ever been cut into your bone? Just curious."
Needless to say, Grahn's surgery sounds über painful, and she could probably use all the fan support she can get!
UPDATE: March 30, 2022: While Grahn recovers from surgery, the role of Alexis will temporarily be recast. Actress Stephanie Erb -- whose prime-time credits include Criminal Minds, Grey's Anatomy, and True Blood -- will step in beginning the week of April 25. This will not be Erb's first visit to Port Charles. In 2000, Erb played the short-term role of Camille on the GH spinoff Port Charles.
