The last time we saw Ryan Carnes on General Hospital, his character, Dr. Lucas Jones, was caught up in a dramatic baby swap storyline that lasted well over a year. Things came to a heartbreaking conclusion once Lucas discovered that the child he was raising with husband Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) was the presumed-dead son of his nephew Michael Cornithos (Chad Duell).
In November of 2020, fans were caught off guard when Matt Trudeau debuted as a recast in the role without official word from the soap prior to his appearance.
After leaving General Hospital, Carnes appeared in four episodes of the TV series Tuning In and in the TV movie Psycho Sister-In-Law. He starred in La Boda De Valentina, one of Mexico's top-grossing films, and appeared on the cover of Men's Health Mexico. He was also in 2019's Acceleration opposite Sean Patrick Flanery, Dolph Lundgren, and Danny Trejo.
In 2021, he starred as a college professor named Charlie who has a terrible dating track record in Hulu's Cupid for Christmas. Now Deadline has reported that the actor has recently signed with the Sovereign Talent Group under their theatrical division.
Carnes originally joined the cast of General Hospital as the son of Bobby and Tony Jones in 2004. He left the soap in 2005 and returned in 2014. He played the role off and on until 2022. Carnes is also best known for playing Justin on ABC's Desperate Housewives from 2004 to 2006.
