Lisa Banes, who played the role of Eve McBain on One Life to Live, is hospitalized following a hit-and-run accident that left the actress with "substantial injuries."
According to Banes's manager, David Williams, the actress was crossing Amsterdam Avenue in the Upper West Side of Manhattan near Lincoln Center on Friday night when she was struck by either a scooter or a motorized bicycle. The 65-year-old actress, who is known outside of daytime for roles in the films Gone Girl and Cocktail, is being treated at Mount Sinai Morningside and listed in critical condition.
"The driver did not stop but continued," Williams said. "Luckily she was relatively close to the hospital and she was able to be transported there."
The NYPD does not identify accident victims, by the police did confirm that an accident took place. Police said the scooter in question was traveling north on Amsterdam when it ran a red light and knocked Banes into the roadway. No suspects have been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
Banes appeared on One Life to Live in 2004 as the mom of John and Michael McBain. She also recently appeared in the much-buzzed-about Amazon horror/thriller series, Them.
