Kiko Ellsworth (Jamal Woods) is not, as online rumors hint, leaving Port Charles in the near future.
Over the past few weeks, there have been online reports that Ellsworth's character would be killed over, thus filling the "fifth chair" in Heaven. The reports seemed fueled by the growing interest in Alison and Rafe's relationship. Alison, played by Erin Hershey, had been Ellsworth's character's love interest up until a few weeks ago. Another influencing factor also may have been the departure of Ellsworth's on-screen sister, Ion Overman (ex-Gabriela Garza) on March 6th.
"It is definitely not true," Ellsworth's rep tells Soap Opera Central. "Kiko has a contract with the show through the end of the year."
Another possible factor that helped spread the rumor was Ellsworth's initial confusion about how his contract would play out now that Port Charles' has changed its taping schedule from a year-round schedule to a six-month schedule. Ellsworth's manager also asserts that Kiko will be taping scenes through May - right alongside the rest of the PC cast. Ellsworth joined the cast of Port Charles on April 13, 2000.
