The dust has settled in the lawsuit filed against actress Jensen Buchanan (ex-Vicky, As the World Turns/Another World; Melissa, General Hospital). And from the looks of it, both sides have emerged as winners.

In February, Televest Daytime Programs, Procter & Gamble Productions and the producers of both As The World Turns and Guiding Light filed a breach of contract suit against Buchanan after the actress landed a part on ABC's General Hospital.

According the lawsuit, Buchanan's first appearance in her new role on General Hospital came during a time when the actress was under exclusive contract to CBS's As The World Turns, which is produced by Procter and Gamble. Guiding Light became involved in the suit because in many markets the CBS soap airs opposite of GH. P&G also produces Guiding Light.

ABC had also been named in the lawsuit, but the network was dropped shortly after the suit was filed when it revealed that ABC had no idea that Buchanan was under exclusive contract to CBS.

Recently, the suit was dropped. Apparently, both sides determined that no intentional harm was intended by Buchanan joining General Hospital - and Buchanan's exit on As The World Turns was crafted magnificently and drew high praise from viewers. There was also substantial Internet buzz that the suit was dropped because the folks at As The World Turns were on a post-Emmy nomination high. That, however, remains purely speculation.
