It's a sad day for fans of the POP TV series Queens of Drama. Despite rumors that the primetime docu-reality show was filming a second season, Deadline reports the series has been canceled.
The premise of the show was that a group of soap opera stars aimed to produce and star in a serialized drama of their own creation, with the goal being that they would develop, pitch, and land a pilot by season's end.
Unfortunately, neither fans nor the show's stars -- General Hospital's Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda Barrett), Donna Mills (ex-Madeline Reeves, GH; ex-Abby Ewing, Knot's Landing), Lindsay Hartley (ex-Cara Castillo, All My Children; ex-Arianna Hernandez, Days of our Lives; ex-Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald, Passions), Chrystee Pharris (ex-Simone Russell, Passions), Crystal Hunt (ex-Stacy Morasco, One Life to Live; ex-Elizabeth Spaulding, Guiding Light), Hunter Tylo (ex-Taylor Hayes, The Bold and the Beautiful), and Joan Collins (ex-Alexandra Spaulding, GL; ex-Alexis Carrington, Dynasty) -- will have the chance to see what could have been, had Queens of Drama been given a second season to continue.
The first ten-episode season debuted on POP on April 26, 2015.

This isn't the first soap-reality hybrid show to get the axe after one season. In 2012, E!'s Dirty Soap was also canceled after just a single season.
