It's possible ABC Daytime and General Hospital fans are in for major changes, as the executive vice president of the network's daytime and syndicated programming, Lisa Hackner, has left her position in what appears to be a tumultuous time for the division.
Variety reports that Hackner's departure is just one move in what has become a complete reorganization of the department as the result of FabLife's cancellation. An estimated five to ten jobs will be affected by the restructure process, and Hackner -- who reportedly elected to leave her position -- is "unlikely" to stay on through the transition.
Sources tell Variety that during Hackner's nearly three years at ABC Daytime, she "did not develop or bring about any successful new programs, which... led to her departure."
As fans may recall, she oversaw Tyra Banks's short-lived show, FabLife, which only lasted one season, and was in the position when The View shifted from daytime to the ABC News division.
At this time, there's no word on who might replace Hackner or what further changes ABC Daytime will make during its restructuring process.
Earlier this year, there were changes at the top of ABC's roster as Channing Dungey was promoted to president of ABC Entertainment.
