Daytime Emmy winner Jordi Vilasuso is ready for his soap opera comeback as he takes over the role of Justin Ramos on the digital soap opera The Bay. Justin was last played by David Lago during season five of the fourteen-year-old series.
Vilasuso has several soap roles under his belt and was last seen on The Young and the Restless, where he played Sharon's late husband Rey Rosales from 2018 to 2022. He began his soap career on Guiding Light, where he played Tony Santos from 2000 to 2003, winning a Daytime Emmy award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series.
Vilasuso later had a recurring role on All My Children, playing Griffin Castillo from 2010 to 2011. In 2016, the actor brought Dario Hernandez to life on Days of our Lives, where he worked with A Martinez as Dario's dad, Eduardo. The two performers will soon be reunited on The Bay.
"I have known about The Bay for years and have met Gregori [Martin, the soap's creator] throughout my career," Vilasuso told Soap Hub. "When he asked me to join the show as [the new] Justin Ramos, I was thrilled. Having the chance to work with A Martinez again and the rest of the incredible cast is exciting."
The Bay made its first-season debut on February 15, 2010, and has seven seasons under its belt. Through the years, it has featured a plethora of current and former network soap stars, including Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Johnson, DAYS), the late Jacklyn Zeman (Bobbie Spencer, General Hospital), Ronn Moss (ex-Ridge Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful), Mike Manning (ex-Charlie Dale, DAYS), Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio, GH), Brandon Beemer (Shawn-Douglas Brady, DAYS), and Martha Madison (Belle Black Brady, DAYS).
The Bay is up for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series on June 7 at the 51st Annual Daytime Emmys Awards. Episodes can be streamed on Amazon, Peacock, Tubi, and the Roku Channel.
