Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Sursok's family relocated to Sydney, Australia, when she was five years old. From an early age, she developed an interest in acting, and soon began performing on stage and television. She studied speech and drama at Trinity College of London and graduated in 1999 with high distinction.
From 2000-2004, Sursok portrayed Dani Sutherland on the popular Australian television drama Home and Away, which also airs in the U.K. and 40 other countries around the world. In 2006, she was voted Sexiest Woman in the World by the readers of Australia's FHM Magazine.
In 2001, she was awarded the "Logie" Australian Television Award for "Best New Female Talent." She was later appointed Junior Youth Ambassador for New South Wales, Australia, and in 2003 received the Centenary Medal for "Service to Australian Society and Acting" by the Governor General of Australia.
Sursok appeared in the feature film Aquamarine and guest-starred on the comedy series Rules of Engagement. She also shot a role in the independent feature Albino Farm for director Sean McEwen. In addition, she will soon appear opposite Harrison Ford and Sean Penn in the film Crossing Over.
She has also pursued a successful music career as a Sony/BMG recording artist with three top 10 hits and two number one songs. She released her first single, "Pointless Relationship," in October, 2004. The song debuted at number two on the Australian ARIA charts and her second single, "Whatever Will Be," debuted at number three in Australia.
An animal lover, Sursok lives in Los Angeles with her two dogs. She enjoys playing guitar in her spare time.
