Badalucco, known best as "Jimmy the Grunt" from the ABC series The Practice, will play a bookie. Y&R has made news in recent months for hiring well-known film and television for short-term roles.

Thad Luckinbill will be exiting The Young and the Restless later this year. It is unclear, however, if it was the actor who opted out of the show -- or if he was let go. Luckinbill joined the Y&R cast in 1999 as a recurring player. He was put on contract in 2002.

The Young and the Restless has added another veteran soap star to its roster. Former General Hospital star Tristan Rogers has been hired for a mysterious new role on the CBS soap. Rogers, known as GH's Robert Scorpio, begins airing in December.

Already one of the most-talked about recasts in daytime, Darius McCrary is now defending himself against allegations that he physically abused his ex-wife, Karrine Steffans. Steffans cites two incidents in which McCrary allegedly choked her, and is asking a Los Angeles court to grant her a permanent restraining order against her former husband.
