After two-and-a-half years atop The Young and the Restless, co-executive producer Paul Rauch has announced that he's leaving his post at the top-rated CBS soap. His exit leaves Maria Arena Bell as the sole creative force for The Young and the Restless.
"My collaboration with Steve Kent, and Maria and Bill Bell has been very rewarding," Rauch said in a statement. "I have had great pleasure working with Y&R's magnificent cast and crew. I feel that I've accomplished everything that I set out to achieve, and it's now time for me to return to New York."
Rauch was elevated to the role of co-executive producer in September 2008 after having served as a story consultant with Y&R. Before joining Y&R, Rauch had more than 30 years of daytime experience under his belt. He's served as executive producer for Another World, Guiding Light, One Life to Live, and Santa Barbara.
In a statement, executive producer and head writer Maria Arena Bell remarked, "Y&R has benefitted tremendously from Paul Rauch's experience and knowledge. I've enjoyed our working relationship and wish him all the best."
Rauch reportedly will continue working on Y&R through March.
