The Young and the Restless' Tracey Bregman (Lauren Fenmore) has been facing an incredibly challenging moment and took to social media to share an emotional glimpse into what she's been going through.
Bregman's father, producer and composer Buddy Bregman, just lost his life after a heartbreaking battle with Alzheimer's disease. As he neared his final moments on earth, the actress captured a beautiful moment in which she and her son, Landon, clasped Buddy's hand in love.
"Three generations holding hands today. #BuddyBregman @1lxndon and me," she wrote. "My Father hasn't held my hand since I was a little girl but today he, Landon and I held hands as my Father starts his last adventure. All of his nurses are true rock stars, their compassion touches me so greatly. I knew my dad could hear us when we spoke to him and I pray that this part goes fast and easy. He is comfortable and sleeping peacefully. Fly high Dad, I've always called you Peter Pan. I know you can do this. Fly. #alzheimerssucks #thelonggoodbye #onwings #love #family @pyrcie"
Shortly after she posted the emotional photo, Bregman's father passed on, prompting her to post a quote from recently deceased Carrie Fisher that reads "Take your broken heart, turn it into art."
She captioned the photo, "I have done this for years but no one has put it as concisely as Carrie Fisher and it's what I will continue to do. Thank you to everyone for your outpouring of love for the loss of my dad, for reaching out to me in all outlets, phone calls and texts. It has meant so much to me. You fill my heart."
Bregman isn't the only soap star to deal with the tragic death of a parent in recent weeks. Days of our Lives' Drake Hogestyn lost his mother, Shug, during the holidays.
