In a time when it's exciting, earth-shattering news to hear that a soap opera has been renewed for just one more season, CBS Daytime has announced that the genre's number one rated show, The Young and the Restless, has been renewed for an impressive three more seasons!
The soap opera, which debuted on March 26, 1973, will now officially run until 2020. And that's not all: the popular network decided to renew its entire lineup; The Price Is Right, The Talk, and Let's Make a Deal have all been renewed for another two years. (The Bold and the Beautiful was previously renewed through the 2017-2018 season).
"CBS Daytime has never been stronger," Angelica McDaniel, EVP of Daytime Programs and Syndicated Program Development, CBS Entertainment and CBS Television Distribution, said in a statement. "From 30 consecutive years of being No. 1 in the ratings, to another year as the most honored network at the Daytime Emmys, our lineup of talk, game shows, and dramas connects with our audience like no one else."
