The Young and the Restless star Bryton James (Devon Hamilton) is going to be one busy bee in the weeks ahead, as he's landed a role in the new Nickelodeon series Glitch Techs.
The animated show follows the adventures of two kids who battle video game monsters that have come to life in the real world. Nickelodeon has picked up the show for an initial 20-episode first season and plans to debut the series created by Eric Robles and Dan Milano later this year.
Not much else is known about the animated show at this time, other than the creators consulted with the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) for help creating multiethnic characters so "someone somewhere [can look] for themselves on television." As such, one of the characters will be a Muslim-American female who will wear a hijab.
"Even though we're an animated show and they are trying to catch creatures, we want small things," says Milano. "We want to know that a stray hair came out of that hijab, and she had to tuck it behind her ear because that's a human moment, that's a practical moment, from everyday life."
Various reports seem to indicate that Bryton's role in Glitch Techs won't affect his time in Genoa City, as the actor will be pulling double duty and working both jobs at the same time.
Bryton's other credits include Young Justice, DC Super Friends, Star Wars Rebels, The Winx Club, Hero Factory, The Vampire Diaries, and Family Matters.
