She's baaack! The Young and the Restless' Hunter King is reprising her role as Summer Newman on Tuesday, January 29. And, as always, the character is returning to a whole lot of drama.
The last time fans of the CBS soap opera saw Nick and Phyllis's daughter was back in November, when she took off to Dubai after accepting a job offer from Victor (Eric Braeden). As fans may recall, Summer was in the midst of a super scandalous storyline in which she'd slept with her mom's beau, Billy (Jason Thompson), not realizing that for him, the act was done as revenge on Phyllis (Gina Tognoni). Needless to say, there's a lot of unfinished business for the young diva to deal with once she's back in GC.
King originally took on the role of Summer back in 2012 but exited the CBS soap opera in 2016 when she booked a role on the CBS primetime series Life in Pieces. The California native reprised her Emmy-winning role in June of 2018, with Summer immediately trying to seduce both Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Billy. Will Summer return a little bit more mature after her working stint in Dubai? Or will she be just as wild as she ever was?
According to storyline teasers published in Soap Opera Digest, Summer will be back to her old tricks as soon as she sets foot in Genoa City. Even though Kyle's relationship with Lola (Sasha Calle) is off to a good start, Summer will set her sights on winning her pal for herself -- and as viewers know, a Newman will stop at nothing to get what they want.
Says the publication: "Summer will make a power move and rely on Fen [Zach Tinker] and his rivalry with Kyle to disrupt Kyle and Lola's relationship."
To find out if Summer's plan to win Kyle's heart will work, check out the preview video below and be sure to tune in to Y&R this week for King's return.
