An upcoming musical promises to be a bloody good time for fans of The Young and the Restless star Cait Fairbanks (Tessa Porter). The popular daytime actress has been cast in Once More, With Feeling, a stage send-up of the like-titled musical episode of the 1997-2003 television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Writer Jordan Ross Schindler, known for parody musicals like Never Been Kissed -- The Unauthorized Musical, took to Twitter to announce the cast of the show, which is scheduled to go on stage at the Rockwell Table & Stage in Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 14.
Cruel Intentions: The '90s Musical actress Betsy Stewart will be taking on the lead role of Buffy, who was famously played by All My Children alum Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall Hart) in the WB series, while Fairbanks will be playing the role of lesbian witch Tara Maclay, who was played by Amber Benson. Kimmy Shields is taking on Willow Rosenberg, the lesbian witch previously played by Alyson Hannigan, who ends up in a relationship with Tara, while Matthew Scott Montgomery is stepping into the shoes of funny guy Xander Harris (played by Nicholas Brendon in the series). Other stars include Amanda Kruger as Anya and Brian Logan Dales as Spike.

Many Y&R fans are thrilled to have Fairbanks in the role of Buffy's Tara, whose relationship with Willow was the first recurring depiction of a lesbian couple on primetime network series television in the United States. Fairbanks is currently half of Y&R's female-female "Teriah" romance with Mariah (Camryn Grimes), and her Once More, With Feeling role is a continuation of her work helping to bring LGBTQ+ characters to the entertainment sphere.
In addition to delighting Buffy and Y&R fans alike, the one-night-only production of Once More, With Feeling is lending a helping hand to a good cause. All ticket proceeds will benefit WriteGirl, a creative writing and mentoring organization that promotes creativity, critical thinking, and leadership skills to empower teen girls. Fairbanks has been playing Y&R singer/songwriter Tessa since 2017. She's also a real-life singer/songwriter who performs under the names of Cait Fairbanks, Ginesse, and Cait Baunoch (the latter of which is her birth name).
