Fans who follow The Young and the Restless alum Loren Lott (ex-Ana Hamilton) on social media know that her posts are almost always extremely ebullient and full of passion -- and her latest posts about her most recent acting project don't disappoint!
The San Diego native has made several recent posts on Instagram about a movie that she just finished filming, and the posts reveal a lot of exciting details about the project. One is that the movie is her very first film, and another is that the mystery project was directed by Ambitions star Robin Givens, who soap fans may remember as Dr. Phillips on The Bold and the Beautiful.
"That's a wrap on my first movie!" Lott enthuses in one of her Instagram posts. "I'm so grateful! Now I can finally say I do it all: tv, FILM, Broadway, plays, and commercials. For my first movie to be one where I got to sing and be with my friends was such a dream."
Lott also praises Givens for "always encouraging me and loving on me and being the best director."
Not much is known about the film, but a photo of Lott entering her trailer reveals that the movie's title is Favorite Son and that she plays a character named Amber. It's also known that she'll be starring alongside actors Serayah, Rotimi, Jonathan McReynolds, and Anton Peeples.
Lott joined the cast of Y&R as Devon's (Bryton James) little sister in November of 2018. She was let go in the summer of 2019 when, as she shared at the time, the powers that be "didn't know what to do with my storyline and they wanted to spend their budget increasing other people's storylines." After departing the CBS soap opera, Lott went on to star in the OWN series Cherish the Day. She's also attached to the upcoming film Star Trek Renegades Ominara, in which she'll play the young version of Ominara -- famously played by Star Trek legend Nichelle Nichols (ex-Lucinda Winters, Y&R).
Favorite Son is Robin Givens' second directorial effort. She previously directed the 2020 Lifetime film Ann Rule's A Murder to Remember. Though she briefly starred as B&B's Dr. Phillips in 2018, she is best known for series like Head of the Class, House of Payne, and Ambitions.
