The Young and the Restless' Melissa Claire Egan wore Chelsea Lawson's shoes until the very end! The super pregnant star reveals that she just finished taping her final scenes before taking off on maternity leave, and she was cutting it close because her due date is late August!
Egan, who is ecstatic to be welcoming a baby boy later this month, tweeted an on-set photo on Wednesday, August 11, that had the caption, "Last work selfie for awhile!" The snap followed a video she posted one week ago that showed her walking the halls of Y&R's studio and joking, "Super pregnant. Still working, honey!"

Y&R got an early start on Egan's maternity leave storyline and wrote the actress off-screen in July, when Chelsea was released from the mental institution to help her mother recover from a hip injury. However, as Soap Central previously reported, viewers can look forward to seeing Chelsea from time to time via video calls she'll be making to her friends and loved ones in Genoa City. It's unclear what material Egan has been filming these past couple of weeks, but it's possible that she'll be peppered into story in the coming months in a way that keeps Chelsea on the canvas for the duration of the actress' hiatus.
While Chelsea's been away tending to her mother, Egan and her real-life husband, Matt Katrosar, captured a few special moments in a beach photo shoot that the actress has shared on Instagram. The couple gave thanks to photographer Lara Everly "for documenting this special time in our lives, with this beautiful miracle we worked so hard for."
Egan made the announcement in April that she and her husband, Matt Katrosar, were expecting a baby boy after a long and emotional journey that included two miscarriages. At the time, the actress shared that she and her hubby were "overwhelmed and soooo touched by all the love we've gotten since sharing about Baby K on the way."
