At the start of this year, The Young and the Restless fans were expecting a big story for Sharon Collins when the character got her own stand-alone episode in which she reflected on her life and where she wanted it to go. Sharon Case was in the spotlight as Sharon realized she didn't belong with Chance...and all roads led her back to Nick.
When Sharon woke, she broke things off with Chance almost immediately, but she's rarely been seen since. A few scenes consulting on Connor and Ashley's mental health issues didn't create an actual story for Sharon, but might one be coming soon? New Y&R set photos indicate that something with Sharon and Nick's girls is coming soon.
Reylynn Caster is seen in these snaps, telling us that Faith might be home from college soon. Last year, both Faith and Sharon were in a major storyline when Sharon's crazed former flame Cameron Kirsten was released from prison and kidnapped Faith, strapping a bomb to her chest. After Sharon killed Cameron and Faith was safe, both characters once again faded into the background.
In the current set pics, the family is posing in Sharon's living room, and it looks like they are dressed for a happy occasion. While Noah is conspicuously missing from the photos, Camryn Grimes's Mariah is there, as is Cait Fairbanks' Tessa.
Do these pics mean that Faith might be back for a summer story and then back to stay? She could always transfer to a college in Genoa City and bring us a much-needed Y&R teen scene. Will Sharon finally get a storyline and a love life? Will Nick come into play?
Nick seems just as backburnered and lonely as Sharon recently, and that dream she had made it clear that there was unfinished business between them. With their daughter home, it can bring them closer together and give the characters a much-needed shot in the arm. Is a true Shick reunion finally in store? Stay tuned to find out.
