It was a homecoming, of sorts, for Susan Lucci (Erica Kane). On Monday, the Emmy-winning actress appeared on ABC's The View to discuss the revival of All My Children. The View tapes in the same building where All My Children had been filmed.
"I so hope that I can return. I want with all my heart to return to All My Children, I just don't know the answer yet," Lucci explained, as tears appeared to well in her eyes. "What I do know is that all of us -- all of us -- are working so hard to make that happen."
"I really want to," Lucci continued. "My heart is certainly with Agnes Nixon, and it's going to be wonderful. I want you all to watch because it's going to be great."
There are unconfirmed reports that Lucci will appear in at least one episode of All My Children, possibly the series' first when it resumes broadcasting this spring.
Lucci is currently traveling between her home in New York and Atlanta, where her new series, Devious Maids, is being filmed. Devious Maids, created by Marc Cherry, will air in primetime later this year on Lifetime.
"The scripts are incredible. Marc Cherry is a brilliant, genius writer," Lucci praised.
Lucci has received 22 Daytime Emmy nominations during her daytime run. In 1999, the actress scored her first Outstanding Lead Actress win.
