If you're a fan of former All My Children characters Ryan and Annie, then November is most definitely going to be a fabulous month for you. Portrayers Cameron Mathison and Melissa Claire Egan are each starring in Hallmark holiday films slated for the month ahead (though if Santa were really listening, he'd grant everyone's Christmas wish and put them in a holiday film together!).
Soap Central previously reported that Egan, who now stars as The Young and the Restless' Chelsea Lawson, will be appearing in Holiday for Heroes on Friday, November 8. Now comes word that her former Pine Valley love interest, Mathison, is also starring in a Hallmark holiday film next month.
Titled The Christmas Club, the holly and jolly movie -- based on the novel of the same name by Barbara Hinske -- follows Mathison in the role of business consultant Edward, who meets complete stranger Olivia (Elizabeth Mitchell) when they both stop to help an elderly woman find her lost Christmas savings. When Olivia's dance studio later goes up for sale, it turns out that Edward's client is the one who is buying it. Edward tries to help Olivia by showing her another studio, but she stubbornly turns down his offer, stating that she wants to manage everything for her business by herself.
When Olivia's delayed loan comes through sooner than expected, she is thrilled beyond belief and rushes off to share the good news with Edward. However, her joy is cut short when she spies Edward hugging the loan officer. Shattered and humiliated, Olivia storms away after telling Edward that they can't have a relationship if he does not believe in her capabilities. Will the miracle of Christmas help the pair find their way back to each other?
Fans can find out what's in store for the destined-to-meet Edward and Olivia by tuning in to the premiere of Hallmark Channel's The Christmas Club on Wednesday, November 27, at 8PM/7C. In the meantime, check out a behind-the-scenes video of the holiday film below.
Mathison starred as AMC's Ryan from 1998 to 2011. He currently co-hosts Hallmark's Home and Family and frequently works as a co-host on Entertainment Tonight. He has also appeared in several of Hallmark's Murder She Baked movies alongside Days of our Lives' Alison Sweeney (ex-Sami Brady).
As fans may have read on Soap Central, Mathison recently went through a serious health scare when he was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma, otherwise known as kidney cancer. Luckily, treatment was able to rid the actor of the disease, and he is now officially cancer free.
