If you ever wondered what it would be like if Michael B. Jordan was the human vessel for Alexa, wonder no more. Amazon's new 60-second spot featuring Jordan will air on Sunday, February 7, during the fourth quarter of Super Bowl 55 on CBS. If you don't want to wait, you can check out the commercial spot below.
The ad, titled "Alexa's Body," begins with a group of employees admiring Alexa's design. One woman goes on to say, "I literally couldn't imagine a more beautiful vessel for Alexa to be inside." As she spots Jordan on a bus ad for the upcoming Prime Video film Without Remorse, she begins daydreaming about a number of romantic scenarios in which she gives commands to Alexa in the form of the actor. Some of the scenarios include Jordan removing his shirt when she tells Alexa to dim the lights and acting as an audiobook while the woman is in a bubble bath. The commercial takes a funny turn as you see the woman's husband react in horror to Jordan acting out his wife's commands.
Jordan spoke to USA Today about his experience shooting his first Super Bowl commercial: "You just have so many memorable Super Bowl commercials going back over the years," he said. "Being a part of (one), it's a bucket list type thing to check off, you know? Like, 'OK, cool, I was part of a Super Bowl moment.' ... It's pretty cool to be a part of that."
He added, "The crazy thing about shooting this spot, there's a lot of things that don't make it to the (final) spot," Jordan said. "The guy that plays the husband is freaking hilarious. A lot of his reactions, just the way we were all working that day, it was pretty funny."
Jordan also mentioned that several other scenarios ended up on the cutting room floor, including one in which he was speaking French.
Jordan, who first became known to soap fans as Reggie Porter on ABC's All My Children, has gone on to star in feature films such as Creed, Black Panther, Fantastic Four, and Fruitvale Station. He was recently crowned Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine. Soap Central first reported on his upcoming film Without Remorse back in April of 2020. It was originally scheduled to be released in September but was pushed to October due to COVID-19. It is currently slated to be released on Amazon Prime Video on February 26.
