Get ready to see daytime alum Debbi Morgan hit the Fox network in a big way. The actress -- known for playing All My Children's Angie Hubbard, The Young and the Restless' Harmony Hamilton, The Bold and the Beautiful's Jennifer Tartaro, and General Hospital/Port Charles' Ellen Burgess -- has joined the upcoming series Our Kind of People in a role that will show fans a whole new side of the North Carolina native.
Written by Karin Gist and inspired by Lawrence Otis Graham's provocative, critically praised book Our Kind of People: Inside America's Black Upper Class, the series takes place in the aspirational world of Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard, a historical stronghold where the rich and powerful Black elite have come to play for more than 50 years. It follows actress Yaya DaCosta as strong-willed single mom Angela Vaughan, who sets out to reclaim her family's name and make an impact with her revolutionary hair care line that highlights the innate, natural beauty of Black women. But Angela soon discovers a dark secret about her mother's past that will turn her world upside-down and shake up the community forever.
According to Deadline, Morgan has been cast in the heavily recurring role of Angela's aunt, Patricia Williams (a.k.a. Aunt Piggy), who moves to Martha's Vineyard with Angela and her teenage daughter, Nikki (Alana Bright). The character, who is described as saucy and uninhibited, is working class and makes no bones about it, but she has a lot of common sense when it comes to giving good advice to the sometimes-overwhelmed Angela. Piggy is also hiding a few secrets of her own, including a connection to Oak Bluffs from many years ago.

Debbi Morgan took on the role of AMC's Angie Hubbard in 1982 and played the beloved character for three decades. During her time in Pine Valley, she won a Daytime Emmy award in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category in 1989, as well as three NAACP awards (in 2002, 2009, and 2010). Morgan has also amassed many impressive non-soap credits on her résumé, some of which include the TV series Boston Public, Charmed, For the People, The Defenders, and Power, as well as the films Eve's Bayou, Coach Carter, and The Hurricane.
