JANUARY 1997
January 6 to 10, 1997
Bobby moved into Vicky's attic. Jake attacked Grant after hearing Grant had gotten physical with Vicky. Felicia and Sharlene clashed as Felicia worked to help Sharlene recover. Josie worried, and Gabe was angry about Gary investigating Grant. Ryan's ghost tried to communicate with Bobby.
January 13 to 17, 1997
Rachel learned she was pregnant. Felicia and Sharlene fought, and Sharlene took a step toward full recovery. Ryan's ghost urged Bobby to keep Vicky safe. Gary and Sharlene worried about Josie going undercover as a prostitute.

January 27 to 31, 1997
Ryan's ghost showed Vicky how her death would affect those she loved and convinced her to return to her life. When Bobby found Vicky, she had amnesia. Joe was worried he'd fail the test that would allow him to become a police captain. Cindy started a fire and ran away, leaving an unconscious Lorna in the path of the blaze.

FEBRUARY 1997
February 3 to 7, 1997
Gabe and John saved Lorna from the fire. Grant was pleased because he believed Vicky was dead. Vicky's family and friends grew to believe she was dead as well. Bobby was caught in a bear trap. Amanda discovered Rachel was pregnant. Cindy spiraled further out of control.
February 10 to 14, 1997
Jake was arrested for Vicky and Bobby's murder while Vicky and Bobby found refuge in a secluded cabin. Sophia battled her lingering feelings for Nick while celebrating Valentine's Day with Matt. Cindy told Gabe it was Grant who had "killed" Vicky and Bobby.
February 17 to 21, 1997
A sniper killed Gabe. Cass worked to keep Grant from getting custody of Kirkland from Michael and Donna while Joe arrested then was forced to release Grant for the bombing that had supposedly killed Vicky and Bobby. Carl rushed a deteriorating Vicky to the hospital.
February 24 to 28, 1997
Rachel told a shocked but happy Carl that Rachel was pregnant. Matt was angry Rachel had kept her pregnancy a secret. Nick and Sophia took Kirkland and Steven on the run. Gary told Josie the timing wasn't right for a wedding. Vicky was reunited with her sons.

March 3 to 7, 1997
Jake saw Vicky and Bobby kiss. Sophia told Matt she wanted to make love to him but then whispered Nick's name in her sleep. Gary found out that Cindy's letter had been typed after being signed. Bobby vowed to protect Vicky from Grant.
March 10 to 14, 1997
Gary, Josie, and Jake made plans to gaslight Grant. Rachel and Carl made up and looked forward to their baby. Michael was angry Donna had made Sharlene feel guilty enough to move out. Matt left town. Sharlene agreed to dinner with Grant and slipped something in his drink.
March 17 to 21, 1997
Carl got a drugged Grant to confess to trying to kill Vicky and Bobby. Carl and Jake doctored Grant's confession tape so it wouldn't be obvious that Grant had been drugged. Emily and Sophia moved into their new apartment, and Sophia was upset to see Nick and Emily kiss. Grant was arrested.
March 24 to 28, 1997
A jailed Grant saw two Jakes and an apparition of Justine. Josie wondered if she could go through with marrying Gary. Grant attacked Carl at Grant's bail hearing. Joe accused Gary of planting evidence. Nick saved Sophia from a restaurant fire.
March 31 to April 4, 1997
In the psych ward, Cindy threatened to kill Grant then made him beg for the antidote that would reverse his condition. Vicky wanted to know about Bobby's past. Joe confided in Josie that he feared his father had been a dirty cop.

Carl succumbed to the effect of Grant's poison. Carl and others began to suspect Grant was alive. Bobby confessed to Vicky that he was wanted for murder but swore he was innocent. Nick and Sophia kissed, and after finding out, Emily turned to Tomas for comfort.
April 28 to May 2, 1997
Grant demanded money from Carl in return for revealing Gabe's real killer. Carl tricked Grant into revealing it was Raines, not Joe, who had killed Gabe. Vicky and Bobby were on the run from the police in Texas. John was upset to find Michael had spent the night at Sharlene's apartment.

May 5 to 9, 1997
Rachel insisted on keeping the baby despite her life-threatening tumor. Grant and Cindy imagined killing each other while agreeing to marry. Cindy was unable to go through with the wedding. Bobby and Vicky agreed to run away together but were knocked down by a collapsing ceiling.

Cindy lied on the stand, and the charges against Grant were dismissed. Josie was promoted to detective. John and Felicia announced their wedding date. Amanda discovered Vicky and Shane, but they managed to stop her from turning them in.

Gary started his private investigator business. Bobby was arrested. Michael was concerned about Nick's drinking. Felicia received a video from Alexander. Vicky, Jake, and Carl tried to prove Shane's innocence. Rachel found out she was having twins.

June 2 to 6, 1997
Felicia was surprised to find Alexander at the movie shoot. John and Sharlene opened up to one another about the demise of their marriage and ended up making love. Vicky and Jake raced to shave Shane, who was on death row.
June 9 to 13, 1997
Jake and Vicky arrived just in time to stop Shane's execution. Felicia called off the wedding after finding out about John's night with Sharlene. Alexander showed up to comfort Felicia but said he'd wait until she was over her breakup with John before pursuing her.
June 16 to 20, 1997
Paulina was using pills from Cindy to lose weight. Sophia was upset to find Nick had been lying to her. A drunken Nick suffered a bad fall. Rachel went into premature labor and suffered serious complications. A mysterious assailant grabbed Toni.
June 23 to 27, 1997
Toni was raped, and Nick became a suspect. Felicia was robbed, and Alexander was there to comfort her. Rachel's biopsy was negative. Vicky ended things with Shane, thinking he wasn't over Lila. Vicky slept as a fire spread through her home.
June 30 to July 4, 1997
Jake rescued Vicky from the fire. Lila threatened suicide if she couldn't be with Shane. Nick admitted he'd blacked out the night of Toni's rape but swore he was innocent. Vicky and Jake left town with the boys. Rachel and Carl took their son home.

Vicky and Jake kissed. Shane proposed to Vicky. Nick was arrested. Rachel and Carl's twins were christened. Grant was upset to discover Cindy was the Silver Rose Thief.

Paulina hid her reliance on diet pills. Donna decided to run for mayor against Grant. Lila continued to pursue Shane. Vicky turned down Shane's proposal. Josie's friends surprised her with a bridal shower.
July 21 to 25, 1997
Gary and Josie were married, and Gary learned Josie was pregnant. Nick became a suspect in a second rape. Sophia stood by Nick even as Michael began to doubt him. Alexander told Rachel that Carl had killed Alexander's wife.
July 28 to August 1, 1997
Grant sent Cindy to a fertility clinic. Vicky proposed to Jake. Amanda and Alexander formed an alliance against Carl. Nick's trial for Toni's rape began. It became evident that Toni had never seen her attacker.

Vicky met Jake at the swing set and told him he, not Shane, was the man she wanted to marry. Evidence in Nick's trial looked damning against Nick, but Josie discovered some new evidence that made her question Nick's guilt.
August 11 to 15, 1997
Amanda and Alexander plotted to make Rachel think Carl was unfaithful. Shane told Paulina the diet pills were damaging her health. Tyrone joined Nick's defense team. Jake and Vicky announced their engagement.
August 18 to 22, 1997
Nick was found guilty. Alexander hit Carl with his car. Grant continued to pay Rusty to make sexual harassment claims against Donna. Grant encouraged Cindy to get Paulina hooked on stronger drugs.
August 25 to 29, 1997
Toni remembered it wasn't Nick who had raped her. Josie discovered evidence pointing to Chip Rayburn as the real rapist. Lila set up Vicky and Jake to find Lila in bed with Shane. Vicky pushed up her wedding to Jake.

September 1 to 5, 1997
Paulina, under the influence of drugs, hit Kirkland with her car. The doctors found Kirkland had suffered an aneurism. Joe planned to send Paulina to rehab. Rayburn attacked Josie.
September 8 to 12, 1997
Rachel became suspicious of Carl as Amanda continued to fake Carl's affair. Toni and Josie held Rayburn hostage when he refused to confess to the rapes. Kirkland pulled through surgery.
September 15 to 19, 1997
Rachel and Carl figured out Alexander had a partner in his schemes. Rayburn escaped from jail and stalked Toni and Josie. Nick risked his own life to test an experimental cure for Kirkland. Cindy convinced Grant he wasn't Kirkland's father.
September 22 to 26, 1997
Matt returned to town and urged Amanda to stop her scheming against Carl. Josie and Toni realized Rayburn had been in Josie's apartment. Vicky learned Lila had deliberately broken Vicky and Shane up. Paulina was released from rehab but continued to struggle.
September 29 to October 3, 1997
Grant won the mayoral race against Donna. Rayburn held Josie and Toni captive. Amanda's lies convinced Rachel that Carl was having an affair. Rachel left town with the twins. Felicia reconsidered marrying Alexander.

October 6 to 10, 1997
Rayburn was arrested, and Nick was cleared of the rape charges. Nick and Sophia looked forward to taking their relationship to the next level. Josie had a miscarriage. Grant offered Donna a position in his administration.
October 13 to 17, 1997
Carl and Alexander had an altercation that resulted in Felicia being pushed through a skylight. Felicia developed a brain bleed and needed surgery. Amanda, disguised as Hadley, went on a date with Shane. Nick moved in with Tomas and Sophia.
October 20 to 24, 1997
Felicia was horrified at her injuries. Felicia escaped the hospital and was attacked. Rachel found out Matt had betrayed her, but Matt did not reveal Amanda's role in the scheme. Gary and Josie took in a homeless girl named Rain whose mother had died of a drug overdose.
October 27 to 31, 1997
Paulina refused to tell Josie where Paulina had gotten drugs. Alexander tied Rachel up and left her to die in a church that was to be demolished the next day. Vicky and Jake had an engagement party. Gary convinced Felicia to return home.

November 3 to 7, 1997
Gary and Josie tried to adopt Rain. Shane learned there was no treatment for the parasite he was infected with. Carl found Rachel but was separated from her in the explosion. Josie took Grant in for questioning about the drugs Cindy had supplied to Paulina.
November 10 to 14, 1997
Alexander held Rachel prisoner. Rachel was confused after the explosion and thought she was still married to Mac. Vicky and Shane were trapped on a roof together. Sophia worried Tomas had romantic feelings for her.
November 17 to 21, 1997
Marley returned to town. Toni tried to work things out with Chris and ignore her kiss with Tyrone. Rachel faked continued amnesia, hoping to lure Alexander out of hiding. Vicky and Jake's wedding began, but was the bride Vicky or Marley?
November 24 to 28, 1997
Vicky married Jake despite Shane interrupting the wedding. Felicia had plastic surgery. Toni, Tyrone, Nick, and Sophia played a game of Truth or Dare. Shane's health continued to deteriorate as he attempted to leave Bay City.

Matt became the third largest shareholder of Cory stock. Felicia returned Alexander's engagement ring. Joe confronted Paulina about her drinking. Lila forged a note from Vicky to Shane in hopes of luring Shane back to town. Alexander left town but planned revenge.
December 8 to 12, 1997
Rachel and Carl were trapped in an elevator and later followed by an unknown person. Grant gave Cindy a dragonfly pin. Cindy was unaware her new pin contained a listening device. Chris was upset to see Toni and Tyrone looking intimate. Shane returned to town.
December 15 to 19, 1997
Jake saved Paulina from a gas leak she had caused after too many glasses of wine. Lila kept news of a cure for Shane's disease to herself. Sophia accepted Nick's proposal. Cindy sneaked the listening device Grant had planted on her into Grant's pocket.
December 22 to 26, 1997
Etta Mae said she wasn't Tyrone's mother. Tyrone ended his relationship with Toni because he suspected Toni was his sister. Rain's grandmother showed up as Josie and Gary were talking about adopting Rain. Grant staged an "accident" and left a bottle of pills in Paulina's hand.
December 29, 1997 to January 2, 1998
Joe and firefighters managed to save Dante and Paulina as the house burned down. Joe didn't believe Paulina when she said she hadn't been on drugs. Shane told Vicky he was dying and then prepared to leave town. Josie and Gary realized Rain belonged with her grandmother.
