Days of our Lives fans have endured months of mostly dark stories, and it looks like it'll be a long time before things brighten up again, as Brandon Beemer (Shawn Brady), Martha Madison (Belle Black), Sal Stowers (Lani Price), and Marie Wilson (Summer) have all reportedly been let go.
In what Daytime Confidential describes as a "bloodbath," the four actors have reportedly been handed their walking papers as part of new head writing team Dena Higley and Ryan Quan's plans for the future following ex-co-head writer Josh Griffith's exit earlier this year.
As fans may recall, Shawn and Belle Brady were brought back to the canvas for the NBC soap's 50th anniversary. Beemer stepped back into the role after Jason Cook, who originally reprised the character for the golden event, opted not to stay on long term.
Stowers' Lani hit the canvas in 2015 and was later revealed to be Abe Carver's (James Reynolds) long lost daughter. Meanwhile, Wilson's Summer just recently made her DAYS debut and was revealed to be trying to con Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) out of her fortune -- so while disappointing, her exit most likely won't come as quite as much of a shock as the others.
A rep for the NBC soap was not immediately available for comment. Madison, however, took to Twitter to confirm that her time in Salem is once again coming to an end.
"Au revoir, Salem! #Leo #NineLives," Madison wrote.
