All My Children alum Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley Santos) definitely knows a thing or two about being an American wife, seeing as how she's been married to her former Pine Valley flame Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo Santos) since 1996. But she's never really been a housewife, as she's been busy serving as the longtime co-host of the morning show Live! With Kelly and...[various co-hosts] since 2001. She just may learn a thing or two about the aforementioned household position, however, as she has landed a guest-starring role on ABC's American Housewife.
Variety reports that Ripa will take on the voice-over role of Whitney in the series that follows Katie Otto (Katy Mixon), a confident, unapologetic wife and mother of three who raises her flawed family in the wealthy town of Westport, Connecticut, which is filled with "perfect" mommies and their "perfect" offspring.
Whitney is said to be a divorcée who is also Katie's new boss at the event coordination company, Parties By Whitney. Although Whitney and Katie have yet to meet, Whitney still demands nothing but the best from her new employee. Ripa will lend her voice to at least two episodes of the show, beginning with the series premiere on Wednesday, September 26.
American Housewife, which premiered in 2016, stars Katy Mixon, Diedrich Bader, Meg Donnelly, Daniel DiMaggio, Julia Butters, Carly Hughes, and Ali Wong.
